Providing for quality education

It is necessary that every child receives the education needed to equip them for tomorrow’s changing world

Reducing taxes

We must protect the wallets of taxpayers by requiring a “super majority” to raise taxes

About Me

I have roots in my community.  Not only am I a life-long resident of Johnson County, I am also a life-long resident of District 22, the district I seek to represent.  I am a member of the Overland Park Historical Society and received education from the Shawnee Mission public school system.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and a post-secondary certificate in paralegal studies from Johnson County Community College. My professional background is in the area of office administration, including law firms. I am currently a stay-at-home mother to my seventeen month old son.

My husband Michael and I have been married for fifteen years. We have a beautiful one year old son named James. This campaign is truly a family effort. My husband, an accountant, serves as my treasurer and my son has been dubbed "honorary campaign chairman".

I am not a politician.  I am a community activist and your neighbor.  I’m also a proud mom. I care about my son's future and the future of my neighbors.  For me, being the best mom I can be means going to Topeka to fight for a brighter economical future for my children and yours. I know it is hard to raise a family under heavy tax burdens and high energy costs. The cost of healthcare has become an unacceptable burden, especially for small businesses and those on fixed incomes, and job growth is critical to the success of our community.

I will listen to your concerns by:

- lowering taxes, including capping property appraisal rates
- supporting creation of the infrastructure needed to deliver less costly energy
- making health care affordable and accessible
- keeping our schools strong
- implementing policies that foster job growth
